JoJo Siwa Comes Out As Queer

Dance Moms famed dancer, JoJo Siwa is no new name to get to the headlines. In 2021, she came out as Lesbian, but now she identifies herself as Queer. In the recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother U.K., she revealed about her gender and sexuality.

On 22nd of April 2025, Siwa and Danny Beard (housemate and a winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.) discussed about it in an ongoing conversation, after a triple elimination.

She said,

“I think I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian. I think you — I think being here I realize, ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer.'”

When Beard agreed to her statement, she said,

“And I think that’s really cool. I’m switching letters! F*ck the L, I’m going to the Q. That’s what I love about sexuality.”

JoJo Said, ‘I Don’t Know About Myself’

In an episode aired on 15th April, JoJo seemed confused about her gender identity. In this episode, she was asked by ‘Big Brother’ about secret messages with housemate Chris Hughes.

Chris was comforting her with wise words, and then she revealed how she felt. She said,

“It’s something that I’m not ready, necessarily, to be open about or up front about, but it has to do with gender and how do I feel.”

She further said where she sees herself. JoJo added,

“I’ve met lots of the males, and I’m not one of them. I’ve also met a lot of females, and fell in love, but I’m not one of them either. But, these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like.”

Came Out as ‘L’ in 2021

JoJo officially joined the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, and she did it ‘in style!’

She first posted a rainbow-filled TikTok video with Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ song. The very day, Pride House added a video featuring her.

Then JoJo took it to her Twitter posting a selfie. She wore a shirt labeled ‘Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever,’ and the captioned read, “My cousin got me a new shirt.” The tweet is no longer available though.
